This is the second book in the Home to Amana series. This could be read as a stand alone, as the characters differ from those in the first book.
Jancey Rhodes loves her volunteer teaching position in the Kansas City orphanage. When her mother becomes ill and longs to return to the Amana Colonies where she was raised, Jancey makes the decision to move with her parents.
Life in the Amana Colonies is much different, but she is determined to make the best of her new life. She finds herself caring for her mother, doing manual labor, and making friends, and having to choose between her longtime boyfriend and a new love interest.
This was an interesting read and prompted me to do an internet search of the people who lived in the Amana Colonies.
I received this complimentary book from Bethany House in exchange for my honest review. I would give this book 4 stars.
